Having spent countless hours in workshops and having studied more than 1,000 brain scans, scientists came to a conclusion that confirms the old common belief stating that male brain works in a different way than the female one.
The map of the “neural circuit” of the average female brain contains a larger number of connections between the left and right hemispheres, contrasted with the male one, where the connection in regions between the back and the front of the brain is predominantly stronger. Continue reading
The personality of every person is unique and perhaps this is why the theories of personality are so many.
The most popular theory argues that personality is mainly influenced by the two hemispheres of the brain. Experts believe that the dominance of the left hemisphere makes the person more reasonable, with increased verbal skills and analytical thinking, while the dominance of the right hemisphere leads to increased intuition, perception and artistic tendencies.
A deeper understanding of the mechanisms and brain function specifies the way in which a person interacts with his environment, says Continue reading
Over the last decade great attention to the functioning of the cerebral hemispheres and its effects on the process of learning was paid. This interest has to do with the fact that traditional teaching models are based on the functioning of the left hemisphere i.e. the development of language and logic, without taking into account the characteristics of the right hemisphere, such as intuition, spontaneity, and imagination.
Although the famous French mathematician Poincare argued that “the logic proves but the intuition creates” and although the Hungarian scientist Michael Polanyi talked about mental beauty and passion in the process of knowledge discovery, only recently science began to recognize the role of Continue reading
1. The tea cups
This optical illusion was created by Chris Westall. There is a tea cup on the table, next to which there is a cube with a small cup. However, on closer inspection, we can see that in fact Continue reading
Possibilities of our brain are infinitely vast. If you do your own brain workout, you can get enormous opportunities and achieve success in business, career and communication.
A person owes all his achievements in work, studies or society to the hard work of his brain. Brain activity is important for pupils and students, businessmen and employees. Everyone knows that learning new things, reading books, watching educational programs have a positive effect on the brain.
But how to develop a way of thinking that would activate the parts of the brain that have not been involved before? Brain training does not require a lot of time, 15 minutes a day will be quite enough. Continue reading
Here is a very simple, but at the same time quite an insightful personality test.
All you have to do is to look at the proposed geometric shapes and choose the one that you think best represents you as a person. In other words, choose the shape that you can clearly identify yourself with. Then arrange the remaining shapes in order of preference. Continue reading
Children that start learning a musical instrument before the age of seven develop their motor skills faster than others, claim Canadian scientists.
As experts at the Concordia University in Montreal say, it shows that at the age of 6-8 music education interacts with the growth rate of motor skills in children, causing long-term changes in the brain.
“Learning a musical instrument requires synchronization between the movements of the hands and the received audiovisual stimuli,” explains the lead researcher of the study and professor of psychology Virginia Penhune. “The earlier a child starts music lessons, the better the connection between motor skills and sensory areas of the brain will be”. Here are 3 simple but effective tips to stimulate your brain activity every day.
1. Put your mouse pad on the other side
By putting your computer mouse on the other side you force yourself to use the other hand. This, in turn, stimulates the neural connections between the right and left hemispheres of the brain. Scientific studies have confirmed that people who equally use both hands have 100% more nerve fibers connecting the two sides of the brain. Continue reading
They are forced to live in a world shaped for those who follow the traditional saying “things go right”. Therefore, everyday they do everything in reverse! So let’s try to answer the question: why are some people born left-handed and how do they differ from the others?
Once stigmatized and socially excluded
The issue of left-handers remains a mystery to science. For many years they were considered abnormal by an ignorant, full of prejudices society and were forced to write with their right hand by parents and teachers. Continue reading
